The Land Rover S1 Mobile Phone

Land Rover are normally associated with their rough terrain vehicles, however, they have now developed a mobile phone, along with Sonim Technologies, which is said to be indestructible.

The S1 handset is said to be able to survive salt, dust, humidity, fog and thermal shock, along with being waterproof to a depth of 1 metre.

The handset, which has been road tested by the British Explorer Sir Ranulph Finnes, is coated in a water, oil and petrol resistant plastic, with a hardened rubber covering offering this extreme protection.

The S1 mobile, includes a waterproof camera with flash, a GPS system, torch, FM radio and an Internet browser and has been approved for use by the military.

The mobile also features an extra-long battery life, giving 18 hours of talk time with 1,500 hours of standby time, however, the Land Rover S1 comes with a price tag of £299, sim-free.
