UTV Indiagames along with Mindtwister have launched the award winning board game Pentago for mobile and smartphones, the game will eventually be available for all mobile feature phones across mobile carriers globally.

Pentago is a multiple award winning, strategy board game for kids and adults alike, which is both simple and sophisticated at the same time. This is a two-player game in which the object is to create a row of five marbles, in any direction, before your opponent does, but with a twist. Each move consists of placing a marble and then twisting one of the four game blocks.

The game has won a stack of awards since it was launched as a board game in 2004. In 2005 Pentago won the prestigious awards of “Game of the Year” in Sweden, in 2006 Pentago won the much revered ‘Mensa Select Award’ in the United States.

Over the years the game has won numerous Game of the Year and equivalent awards in, for example, Finland, France, Japan, and Germany and Pentago has also been nominated for “Toy of the Year 2010” in the “Specialty Toy of the Year” category in the USA.

Players choose one of the 32 national teams that qualified for this summer’s tournament and who will soon be travelling to South Africa. The Sudoku puzzle is then customised with that team’s name and kit, allowing England supporters to don the legendary white strip as they enjoy three game modes.

• Relax mode: playing without pressure, the game can be paused and resumed at the player’s leisure
• Arcade mode: playing to the whistle, gamers must complete the puzzle within a time limit
• Challenge mode: competing against online opponents from around the world, app users can influence their team’s world ranking with their performance.

There are three difficulty levels to choose from (easy, medium and hard) as designed by the unique puzzle generator. Players can also challenge other players around the world each day with a new puzzle and a new chance to be world champion. At the end of the game, players receive customised statistics for analysis of their performance.

The Sun newspaper has developed an iPhone app in time for the Grand National sweepstake called the Sweepstake Shaker.

Each year hundreds of office workers and family members alike get together and have a Grand National sweepstake; and this year the Sweepstake Shaker iPhone app could replace pulling names from a hat!

The Sun’s Sweepstake Shaker: Big Race Edition is available now to download for free on the App Store or via thesun.co.uk/sweepstake.

The way it works is simple; your friends shake the phone to choose their horses and have their picture taken in the correct jockey silks. The app then remembers all the details and creates your very own sweepstake poster. Just email it to yourself when you’re done, print it out and pin it up.

After the race, it even lets you know who has won.

Also in the five days leading up to the race, users will receive top tips from four Sun columnists: Gordon Smart, Ally Ross, Jane Moore, The Sun’s racing expert Claude Duvall and Sun Talk’s award winning host, Jon Gaunt.

Having fallen asleep on their watch and lost the Spookies, Becky and Tim are banished and risk losing their spirit warden jobs unless they manage to recapture these pesky ghosts.
