Palm have announced the launch of their latest smartphone the Palm Pixi. The latest addition is launched as an entry level and therefore as a lower cost complement to the iPhone rival, Palm Pre.
The Pixi is currently available only in the US through the Sprint network and there are no details regarding a European release from Palm.
Like the Pre, the Pixi will run on the firms new WebOS operating system and comes with a touch screen and Qwerty keyboard, but without wi-fi. It also features 8GB of internal storage, a 2 mega pixel camera with LED flash and a 2.63 inch screen.
Palm have recently entered the smartphone market with the launch of the Palm Pre earlier this year, already that model is being compared favourably with the market leading iPhone. The firm are hoping to resurrect their fortunes after once dominating the PDA Personal Digital Assistant market.
